Shuka Shopping Bag

Maasai shuka is the vibrant, checked red fabric worn by warriors (moran) throughout Maasai land. It is the signature clothing of Kenya's most iconic tribe, and we are proud to work this pattern into a fabulous bag that is not only practical and functional, but bright and beautifully made. The bag is lined at the bottom with soft black Kenyan leather, and this accent is echoed in the handles as well, all of which is stitched in our workshop to the highest standards, creating a very durable bag. Subtle beadwork features along the top of the bag, and also in a removable tassel adornment attached to the side of it (not shown in picture). Our shuka shopping bag has two brass zips, one to close the whole bag for security and another for the inner side pocket to arrange and easily find smaller items. Kindly note that the pattern of shuka in stock may vary slightly from that shown here, though it will still always be a red and black design.
